Naked Men Talking: Strip Poker
Have you got a winning hand?
As part of my podcast, Naked Men Talking, I've been exploring all sorts of different approaches to naturism and the power of getting your clothes off.
As a result of the podcast, I've connected with a really strong community of men in London who coordinate opportunities to get naked through the Naked Mates platform.
This has led me to test out a number of different event formats - partly to help me explore different experiences of naturism but mainly because I like getting naked with other guys.
Which is how I've come to be hosting regular games of strip poker at my flat in Hoxton.
At the most recent game, there were 10 guys plus myself.
Some of the guys had been to previous strip poker events, for some it was their first time.
We did a couple of practice rounds, to make sure everyone understood how the game worked and then we got down to business.
We were playing 5-Card Draw, which is the simplest form of poker. It's not at all serious.
Taking plenty of breaks between rounds, and also swapping seats every break, there's plenty of social interaction and chat amongst the card-game.
The good news is that everyone loses their clothes fairly quickly - it's not a long, drawn-out game.
This might sound a bit contradictory, but these strip-poker games are non-sexual events - classic social naturism. We get naked and hang out - it's not a sex-party. There is obviously a sexual energy in the room - everyone is relaxed about casual stroking and boners - but no one is having sex with anyone else.
Date for the next game is 6 February - register via NakedMates to attend.
