Stripped-down Spanish

This week saw a new event hit the Naked Men Talking calendar of activity - conversational Spanish for beginners.
Led by Emi, 15 men joined us on a Thursday evening to strip off and get to grips with one of the world's favourite language.
For our first session, we focused on learning the vocabulary to describe the body.
The learning tool was a variation on the board-game "Operation".
We had a massage table set up in the centre of the room and guys volunteered to take turns getting onto the table to be the patient. Emi had created a set of 40 flash cards - each card gave us the Spanish word for a different part of the body.
While there are regional variations in the language, we focused on universal Spanish for this exercise.
Everyone took turns being presented with a flash card and then touching the patient on the part of the body represented by the word on the card. You got a point if you got it correct and the person with the most points won a prize.
It was a fun, low-stakes way of vocabulary building.
As well as brushing up on our Spanish, one of the key objectives of the event was community building through social naturism. Everyone had brought drinks and snacks to share so there was plenty of conversation and chat in the midst of the Spanish lesson.
The first stripped-down Spanish event was clearly a success - there will be more of these!
